My sculpture and drawings are done from the live model, and the human being, the figure, the nude and the body are its foundation. The individuals represented by the work are its source. The work is predominately life size and often much larger and sculpted directly from the model at monumental scale. The drawings and small scale models are part of a lifetime of study of the human body; of its forms and their functions. Sculptural studies, and drawings which number thousands over the decades, are either independent works or exercises and studies which relate to details or ideas and plans for larger work’
